The gentle colour gradation is an inspired ode to the cherry blossom season gracing parts of Japan each spring. The outside of the bowl is where the land meets the treetops and the ensuing horizon, only to flood the interior with the pastel pink Sakura punters flock to see upon each year’s bloom. To keep to the integrity of the theme, this bowl is coated with a pink tinted “cherry blossom glaze”. The brushed on glaze is allowed to descend and gather halfway down the bowl, forming a natural ridge around the circumference for a unique tactility.
