For over 1,000 years, Gifu prefecture has been home to Mino ware – a range of rustic earthen ware known for its balance of aesthetics and durability. This Hoyo bowl is a fine example of mino yaki. The oval shape of the bowl tapers into a simple, yet effective pinch to form a subtle spout. The spout’s channel is created by the same practical minimalism, with a deliberate, single sharp score on the inside, watch your matcha glide elegantly into cups as you pour with both hands cupped snugly around the body.
