白毫银针 (Yinzhen)

Ciaqing Co-op, Zhenghe, Fujian, China
The astute will note that even bud-only teas vary in grades and so indeed, not all Silver Needles are created equal. This current offering belongs to the premium tier as evidenced by its healthy green tinge, firm texture resulting from timely and sufficient drying, its renowned origin and most importantly of course, the flavour. Premium level Silver Needles pertain the freshness of young greens, a clarity akin to crisp cucumber and baby bokchoy. The aftertaste also lingers with the sweentness and brightness of early picked pears.
If it's too plump, broken, dulled or smoky, send it away. If you're going to indulge best do it right.
