Making your own boba tea is as easy as A, B, C. Check out our handy guide below;

A. Prepare Toppings and Syrup 
 

Pearls

  1. For every 1 cup of tapioca pearls, bring 6 cups of water to the boil.
  2. Add pearls and boil for 20 minutes.
  3. Let stand for 20 minutes.
  4. Rinse thoroughly in cold water. 

Sugar syrup (optional) 

  1. Bring 1L of water to boil in a saucepan.
  2. Reduce water to a simmer and add 500g rock sugar*.
  3. Stir until crystals have fully dissolved. 
  4. Allow syrup to cool.

*fruits & other flavourings may be added as desired

 

B. Choose Your Tea Base

Black Tea concentrate***for famous Pearl Milk Tea!***:

  1. Place 30g (6tbs) of Ceylon Orange Pekoe into a pot.
  2. Add 1L of boiling water.
  3. Total steeping time 5min. Strain and allow to cool.

Matcha Concentrate:

  1. Sieve 50g Matcha into a 1L jug.
  2. Add 1L cold, filtered water to the jug.
  3. Whisk to combine, ensuring there are no lumps. 
  4. Set aside. 

Earl Grey Concentrate:

  1. Place 30g (6tbs) of Earl Grey into a pot.
  2. Add 1L of boiling water.
  3. Total steeping time 5min. Strain and allow to cool.

Rose & Hibiscus Concentrate:

  1. Place 24g (8tbs) of Egyptian Ice into a pot.
  2. Add 1L of boiling water.
  3. Total steeping time 10min. Strain and allow to cool.

Jasmine Concentrate:

  1. Bring 1L water to about 80C in a pot then add 28g Silver Jasmine (6tbs). Stir until tea is immersed.
  2. Total steeping time 6min. Strain and allow to cool.

Vanilla Malt Concentrate:

  1. Place 40g (8tbs) of Fujian Red, 2x vanilla pods (sliced lengthways) into a pot.
  2. Add 1L of boiling water.
  3. Total steeping time 5min. Strain and allow to cool.

Chai Concentrate ***never had chai boba? try it, highly recommended!***:

  1. Place 100g of Masala Chai into a pot.
  2. Add 1L of boiling water. 
  3. Total steeping time 8min. Strain and allow to cool. 

Lemongrass & Ginger Concentrate:

  1. Place 20g (8tbs) of Heal into a pot.
  2. Add 1L of boiling water.
  3. Total steeping time 10min. Strain and allow to cool.


3. Mix and Serve

Cold boba:

  1. Place desired amount of tapioca pearls in glass. 
  2. Fill 1/3 glass with the tea concentrate, add additional sugar syrup or flavourings as desired. 
  3. Fill remainder of glass with milk or chilled water.

Hot boba:

  1. Place desired amount of tapioca pearls in glass. 
  2. Fill 1/3 glass with tea concentrate, add additional sugar syrup or flavourings as desired. 
  3. Fill remainder of glass with warm milk or hot water.
