Greener Matcha

We’d just like to share some good news.
New organic matcha has just landed and from today forward, you’ll notice a brighter shade of green in our Matcha Latte OG+ offerings.
How did it turn greener?
We have now included a bright first-flush Seimei cultivar into the blend.
What is Seimei?
In 2017, NARO officially created and registered this hybrid as a way of improving the quality and quantity of leaf material suitable for matcha. Compared to other cultivars like the related Saemidori and Yabukita, Seimei has strong colour intensity, umami and yield. It is also resistant against numerous tea leaf diseases and is shade tolerant, making it an excellent choice for matcha production.
Can I get Seimei on its own?
Yes! Single cultivar Seimei will be available very soon for purchase in July 2026.
