Why we chose this: organic, simple to cook, stores well
Simply made with organic wheat flour, some water and a pinch of salt, Spiral’s udon is a great slurpable conduit for broths or sauces. Once ready, it’s about half the thickness you normally get from the pre-cooked refrigerated versions - you still get the textural sensations you’d normally enjoy from an udon like the beveled edges and the bounce but just without the heaviness.
Pre-proportioned for your convenience, it comes in three bundles of joy per pack.
Taste: Neutral with a lot of bounce.
Preparation:
1. Bring 2L water to boil.
2. Add noodles little by little to avoid clumping and stir.
3. Return to boil and cook for 9min.
4. Drain and rinse with cold water.
Uses: Soup-based noodles, stir-fry (yaki udon), noodle salad. Hot or cold noodle dishes.
